Viney Reserves secured progression in the West Dean Charities League by destroying second placed team St. Briavels 7-0.

Andy Phillips opened the scoring early on with a brilliant right footed finish from just outside the box, curling around the Briavels’ keeper at the far post.

Cezz Holder got his first in a Viney Shirt, and the second for the Reds on the night, after a low driven cross from Josh Matthews behind the defense for Cezz to finish at the back post.

Brian Minchington Scored twice before the break to put Viney into a really strong position for the second half.

Viney continued as they had left off with high work rate pressuring St. Briavels into mistakes, with Richard Mason playing in the number 10 role and capitalizing twice with Brian completing his hat-trick with a volley after Josh had delivered again from the right.

With Viney Res having secured a place in the next round, they next travel to Weston for the final group game, where Viney will be hoping to make it a clean sweep of 4 wins in 4, but this will be a very testing game, so high work rate will again be key.
